Joel Goes To Hospital
This picture/poster book has been designed to assist teachers to familiarise young children with some of the procedures they may face and people they will meet in hospital. The aims of the book are:
to help to clarify any misconceptions children may have about hospitalisation;
to minimise fear and anxiety about admission to hospital;
to assist children to feel more at ease with medical equipment and the day to day routine of a hospital.
In addition to the text under each picture, more detailed information is given in the supplementary text which will be useful for further discussion with the children.
