World Rare Disease Day is a global event held annually on the last day of February. May 2012 Parent to Parent NZ is looking for contacts to connect families who have a child with a disability, health impairment or special need. See if you can help - click here to view the current list of contacts they are looking for. 16 April 2012 The Consumers Health Forum of Australia is currently conducting a project on Quality Use of Medicines among Young People. Part of this project involves an online survey of individuals 17 years old or younger (focussing on young people aged 10 17 years of age) with the aim of gathering information about their attitudes and behaviours regarding medicines and medicine use. To participate visit: 29 February 2011 AWCH attended an event in Sydney’s Martin Place on February 29th that marks World Rare Disease Day 2012. 22 November 2011 AWCH attended the Youth Health2011 – It’s Totally Important Conference in November in Sydney. The conference ran over 3 days and was a wonderful mix of professionals and young people coming together to discuss youth health. AWCH jointly hosted a pre-conference workshop which had a morning session discussing the rights of young people in healthcare and the standards required to protect those rights followed in the afternoon with presentations and discussion about training and workforce development in adolescent healthcare.
