AWCH provides support via information and/or letter to families and health professionals on specific issues relevant to childrens health care, such as separation of adult and child patients, hospital facilities for families, participation of parents and carers in a childs health care, the importance of developmentally appropriate play during hospitalisation, and so on. AWCH assists in following through complaints about health care services, and advocates for improved health care services and facilities for children, adolescents and their families in hospital.
